El-Sayed campaign reports more than $2.4 million raised in one day
Abdul El-Sayed's Democratic Senate campaign in Michigan said it raised more than $2.4 million on Sunday, November 1, in what it described as a single-day fundraising record, Fox News reported on November 2.
The campaign said more than 65,000 donors contributed, with an average donation of $36.74. Nearly 29,600 people gave to the campaign for the first time, according to the report.
The fundraising came after Representative Haley Stevens, who lost the Democratic Senate primary to El-Sayed, endorsed Republican nominee Mike Rogers on Sunday. Campaign spokesperson Cole Wozniak said momentum behind El-Sayed's campaign had never been stronger as Michigan voters headed to the polls.
