El-Sayed outperforms 2024 Democrats across Metro Detroit in Michigan Senate victory

Abdul El-Sayed won a larger share of the vote in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties than Kamala Harris and Sen. Elissa Slotkin did in 2024, Axios Detroit reported on November 5, citing local election officials.

Republican Mike Rogers still won Macomb County, but by less than two percentage points, compared with nearly ten points in his 2024 Senate race against Slotkin. In Oakland County, El-Sayed received 56% of the vote, the report said.

Axios reported that El-Sayed received 82% in Dearborn, against Harris' 36% two years earlier. In Detroit, Rogers received 5.4%, down from 7.4% in 2024.

The report describes the 2026 results as unofficial and notes that Wayne County was at 98% reporting. The figures are not certified results.
