Federal agents search Ilhan Omar's home
Federal agents searched the Washington-area home of Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar early Monday, Reuters reported, citing Fox News Digital and a source familiar with the operation. Fox News said the search concerned a criminal fraud investigation into immigration paperwork completed by Omar's late father when she was a child.
A Justice Department spokesperson told Fox News that Homeland Security Investigations had executed a court-authorized search warrant in the Washington, D.C., area as part of an ongoing federal investigation. Reuters said neither the department nor Omar's representative immediately responded to its requests for comment.
Omar represents Minnesota's 5th District, including Minneapolis. AP separately reported the search, citing people familiar with the matter, and said the Justice Department confirmed a search warrant had been executed in the Washington area without providing further details.
