Mohamad Ihssan Bazzi appointed Dearborn court magistrate

Dearborn, Michigan, appointed attorney Mohamad Ihssan Bazzi as a magistrate at its 19th District Court, according to an October 9 report by Ebtissam Khanafer in The Arab American News. The City Council unanimously approved his appointment. He succeeds Rula Aoun, whom Governor Whitmer appointed to the Wayne County Circuit Court. Bazzi was born in Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon and moved to the United States with his family at age 7. He grew up in Dearborn, attended its public schools and was licensed to practice law in Michigan in 2019. His work has included civil and criminal cases, estates and guardianship matters. Bazzi told the newspaper that he takes the responsibility seriously and wants people appearing before the court to be treated fairly and respectfully, with time to explain their position and understand the proceedings.
