Oakville celebrates Islamic Heritage Month with art and community exhibits

An Islamic Heritage Month celebration at Oakville Town Hall brought together artists, vendors, community organizations and local leaders. According to Oakville News' October 7 report, Global Khidmah Forum president Sajid Anjum organized the event in partnership with ISNA Canada, with exhibits, a prayer space and speakers discussing Islam's role in the community.

Artist Anan ElGaml shared paintings inspired by foods significant to her culture, while the organization Pillars introduced its work connecting young Muslims with community entrepreneurs. Speakers recognized Muslim contributions to Oakville and encouraged young people to embrace both their faith and their Canadian identity.
