Poll puts Plummer seven points ahead in Harris County judge race
Democrat Letitia Plummer led Republican Orlando Sanchez by seven percentage points in a University of Houston Hobby School poll of the Harris County judge race, Axios Houston reported on October 13.
The survey put Plummer at 47%, Sanchez at 40% and undecided voters at 13%. It surveyed 2,750 likely Harris County voters from October 3 to 8, with a margin of error of plus or minus 1.87 percentage points, according to Axios.
Plummer led among women, Black voters and Latino voters; Sanchez led among white voters and voters over 55. The poll also found 71% believed the county was heading in the wrong direction and 72% disapproved of its recent property-tax increase.
Hobby School senior executive director Renée Cross said that dissatisfaction did not appear to translate into a desire to reverse the county’s Democratic tilt.
