Wilson-Anton's challenge falls short in Delaware House Democratic leadership vote

Delaware House Democrats backed Speaker Melissa Minor-Brown after a leadership challenge from Rep. Madinah Wilson-Anton, Spotlight Delaware reported November 5. Minor-Brown still needs a formal vote of the full House to become speaker for the next term.

Wilson-Anton proposed a competing leadership slate that included Rep. Kim Williams for majority leader. The caucus retained Kerri Evelyn-Harris as majority leader and chose Cyndie Romer as majority whip.

Minor-Brown said there was "no beef" with Wilson-Anton or Williams and welcomed "healthy competition." Wilson-Anton did not respond to the outlet's request for comment late Wednesday.
