Iman Jodeh discusses living costs and immigrant fears in Colorado interview

Colorado state Senator Iman Jodeh discussed living costs, immigration fears and Palestinian representation in an interview published by Muslim Network TV on November 3. The outlet published both a profile and a question-and-answer version of the same interview.

Jodeh, an Aurora Democrat, said constituents are raising concerns about housing, child care and health care. She described families weighing whether both parents can afford to work while paying for child care.

She said some immigrant families fear going to work or sending children to school because of immigration enforcement. Jodeh pointed to state efforts to protect personal information and access to schools and health facilities, presenting them as part of her response.

The Palestinian American legislator also described grief and isolation over Gaza and the difficulty of persuading colleagues to support a ceasefire letter.

Jodeh said shared identity should not be the only basis for judging candidates, emphasizing their policies, record and campaign funding.
